How Does Fancards Add New Teams?

University Fancards Partners with Top Teams Around the Country

Partnering with Top College Teams

One of the most exciting things we do at Fancards is partner with some of the most recognizable brands in college athletics. Whether it’s Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, or one of the many other schools we are fortunate enough to work with on a daily basis, we take pride in the partnerships we have forged with these universities and their amazing fans.

But we always want to add new schools! So how do we decide who should be the next Fancards school? Here are 3 things we consider:

1. How “Diehard” is the Fan Base?

Of course, we consider each school’s fans! We’re all about the fan, it’s literally in our name. If we’re considering adding a school, we ask questions like, “How passionate is this particular fan base?”, “How engaged is this fan base on a daily basis, especially on social media?”, “How big and widespread is this school’s fan base?”. Questions like those help us gauge how passionate the fanbase is at a particular school.

2. Geography & Conference

These two go hand-in-hand. Considering we are headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, we started with our close neighbor, the Alabama Crimson Tide. In the past 3 years we have been able to add 21 additional teams throughout 15 states, and in fact we most recently added Boise State, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State (check out our Facebook live announcement!). This rapid expansion plan has allowed us to continue to add teams across the country as well as retailers coast-to-coast.

3. Listening to you

Not only do we look at fan bases, but we also value the personal input we get from fans! How? First, through the replies and comments we get on our social media accounts. And second, from the fans that have requested we add their school through the “Request a Team” page on our website. Since the new year, we’ve received over 4,000 requests for new schools, and below are some of the leaders (and some of our top targets). To add your request, go here!

Those are just a few things we take into consideration when we look at bringing a school into the Fancard Family. We are currently at 22 schools and counting and can’t wait to share who our next addition (additions?) might be.

In the mean time, stay tuned to Fancards social media for announcements on new teams, new retailers, and more exciting happenings at Fancards!
